As a CCTV installer, having a reliable poe network tester is crucial. This unit tells me exactly what voltage the switch is pushing before I mount the camera. The rechargeable battery is a massive bonus over my old 9V testers.
The port flash feature alone is worth the money. Trying to find which desk maps to which port on a messy 48-port switch used to take ages. Now I just plug in the ethernet wire tracer, and the switch port lights up immediately.

Great all-rounder. I use the NCV (non-contact voltage) pen feature more than I thought I would when working near live electrical runs. The lan wire tracker is loud and clear, though the volume wheel is a bit sensitive.
Field Application Guide
- Continuity Testing: Plug one end of the Cat5/Cat6 cable into the main unit and the other into the receiver. Select 'Wiremap' to instantly view pin-to-pin continuity, shorts, or crossed pairs on the LCD.
- Wire Tracing: Connect the target cable to the emitter. Select 'Scan' mode. Use the receiver probe near cables or patch panels; the loudest audio tone indicates the correct cable.
- PoE Testing: Connect the live network cable to the PoE port on the emitter. The screen will display the voltage, power standard (AF/AT), and polarity.
- Port Flashing: Plug the cable into the emitter and select 'Port Flash'. Locate the corresponding flashing LED on your network switch or router.
- Optical Power Meter: Remove the dust cap, insert the fibre optic connector, and select your required wavelength (e.g., 1310nm or 1550nm) to measure optical power loss.
